DepEd and Sec. Briones earn High Approval Rating for 2020
Amidst pandemic, DepEd and its Secretary, Madam Leonor M. Briones, earned high approval rating for this year 2020 according to the nationwide survey of Pulse Asia last September.
According to the report, DepEd garnered 73% of net approval which is the highest of all the agency under the executive branch of the Philippines while Secretary Briones got the highest net approval rating of 60% of all the members of the cabinet. Said survey was conducted on September 14 to 20, 2020 by Pulse Asia Research Ulat ng Bayan Survey Report.
"This only shows that more Filipinos appreciate the commitment and effort of the Department in offering learning opportunities and hope amidst these uncertain times. We will use this trust of our people as motivation in pushing for more reforms in basic education," stated by Secretary Briones.
"We thank our teachers, learners, parents, and partners for this overwhelming support. The past months were not easy for education but the whole community rallied behind the department for learning to continue," she added.
The survey also revealed that 60% of Filipinos trusted the opening of classes for school year 2020-2021 while 25% disagree. The remaining 15% were undecided on the matter.
Furthermore, reports showed on November 4, 2020 that there are 25.03 million enrolled students for school year 2020-2021. 22.75 million were from public schools.
